Snacktorio is a level-based cooking automation game from TNgineers where you build and scale food production lines to feed beasts threatening to consume your world. I loved APICO, a beekeeping sim game from them, so I was really excited to check this out.
There is a demo available that allows you to play through the first few levels of Tamato Island, and you can carry over your progress from the demo to the full game, which is always appreciated.
The story is simple. Hungry monsters threatened to consume the world until their appetites were sated with food provided to them. Now there are more monsters and more food required. The head chef requests that you join the kitchen brigade, where you will build and run new cooking factories. Gather ingredients, build production lines, and craft meals inspired by cuisine around the world. As you travel around the islands, you will come across new foods, new rules, and new ways to test your abilities.

There are 55 levels in the full game, across 6 islands. Experience all the stress of running a restaurant without any pay, all while trying to prove your Witchelin Star chef status. Take orders, create multiple courses, avoid allergens and preferences, meet their demands, or become their lunch.

Design automated kitchens that will use mixers, ovens, fryers, etc. Manage timing, contamination, allergens, spoilage…all while your production facility grows. Turn your recipes into networks of machinery.
Real-life food rules apply, like milk curdling in the heat, meat carrying the potential for food poisoning and dough rising over time.

This game has a cute, simple style, and if you like Factorio, I am sure you’ll find lots of love in Snacktorio. Since I love cooking games, I found that since this rewarded things like creativity, punctuality, and consistency, I found that it appealed to a part of my brain that likes order and routine.

One thing I absolutely LOVE about Snacktorio is that a portion of the money made will be donated towards hunger, foodbank, and food waste prevention charities to help feed those in need in the real world.
Until next time…be good to yourself and be good to each other.
