I’m not sure if there are more idle games this year, or if I’ve just been more open to seeing and trying them, but I have been loving the wide variety of them that have been popping up in my review queue. This week I had Tiny Capsule Collector from Playing Mantis Studio running on my desktop while working and browsing.
Tiny Capsule Collector is a relaxing, low-focus idle game where you run a mini Gachapon shop on the bottom of your screen. You can customize the look of the machines and what you sell in them. You will attract adorable 2D animated visitors to purchase from your machines, and you can open capsules and complete your collections as well. As a gaming completionist, I was fully dialled in and tried to complete my sets and often found myself checking in to take a few more tries to get my missing toys.

Use your earned money to open additional cosmetics and collections to sell. Decorate your screen with a wide variety of items from the shop or the toys you’ve collected.

For a smaller idle game, it has a lot of options for customization. You can have the background on or off and change the sizes of everything on your screen, making it less intrusive as required.
I love that Tiny Capsule Collector also has Twitch integration, and although I didn’t test it out, the idea of seeing your chat’s name visiting your shop while streaming sounds delightful.

Tiny Capsule Collector is adorable, and if you can keep yourself from getting too distracted, it’s a nice little idle game to keep you company throughout the day.

Until next time…be good to yourself and be good to each other.
