Slice the crops! – Review

Sometimes, simple is best, and there is something to be said for a simple formula in gaming that makes for an incredibly fun experience. Slice the Crops! is an addictive incremental ARPG from Wobblers Games where you harvest mutant fruit and vegetables by, you guessed it, slicing them.

Pairing a satisfying click/slice loop with an extensive talent tree, powerful fruit mutations, and gear upgrades, it was easy to get caught up in a “just one more round” mentality while playing.

At the end of each level, you can see what rewards you’ve earned, and you mix & match them to help you have the best possible chance of beating the boss in each level. There is a wide variety of rewards and multiple levels for each. There is also a forge where you combine rewards you don’t need or want into something more powerful and potentially more useful.

Discoveries are also very important as they help by providing more ‘special’ fruit and vegetables to spawn, thus giving you additional experience points and special skills when you slice them.

My first time playing, I played for 3 hrs and didn’t realize how quickly that time passed. I was fully invested in upgrading every possible option and completing the talent tree.
