I won’t lie, I played Teeto before Steam Next Fest even started, then played it again with the Steam Next Fest new demo, and then again with the updated demo, and again… you get the picture. I played this demo (and all variations) many times, so it should suffice to say that I really enjoyed this game.
Teeto is a 3D adventure platformer and a heck of a lot of fun. Run, bounce, climb and glide your way around the bright and happy open world. The soundtrack changes as you encounter different enemies and experiences, and is a perfect accompaniment to the world you explore.

Teeto is a small blue…something that can absorb a wide variety of objects, turning them into new forms with new abilities. How can they do this? With a Vionite-powered backpack provided by their cute bunny sidekick, Nory. Together they will use these unique abilities to solve puzzles, discover secrets, defeat enemies and find adorable little “Michaels” hidden around the levels. Michael was Nory’s first experiment. He split into 2, then 4, then 8, spread all through the levels. Each Michael has its own personality, and each made me smile as I found them while exploring.

Some of these powers are the ability to use a vine when you absorb a flower, do an extra heavy stomp when you absorb a boulder, shoot water, etc. Being able to become a couch, running around the map is delightful.

The game can be played entirely solo, but is also super fun when you grab a friend and dive into split screen co op. Choose great outfits to differentiate your characters at a glance. Each Teeto has a great variety to start, and you will unlock new outfits throughout the game.

While traversing the world, you will also meet quirky characters, each requiring your help. If you choose to help them, they might give you an item, a secret or a new ability.
If I had to describe Teeto quickly, I’d say it feels like watching Saturday morning cartoons mixed with a platformer like Super Mario. Pure nostalgia, bright, bouncy, and so clever. The humour caught me off guard; it was unexpected and such a joy.
Watching the social media game of the dev is also exceptional. Seeing clips involving their daughter speaking while playing or seeing their proposal that played out in a custom area of the game, I can’t help but want this game to be successful.
I will assume it’s obvious, I loved Teeto, and I will probably play it a few more times before the demo disappears from Steam Next Fest. It’s easily one of my favourite demos from the past week, and I can’t wait to get my hands on more of it.
Until next time…be good to yourself and be good to each other.
