Mark your calendars, Indie Game fans. The first Steam Next Fest of 2026 is on the horizon, and I can’t wait! Running from February 23rd through March 2nd, you’ll be able to check out hundreds of demos, watch live streams and even participate in some Q&As with the devs of these recently released and upcoming indie games. All the demos are free, and you may find a rare gem or even a new genre of game for yourself. Remember to wishlist these games, join the communities and provide feedback once you play the demos.
Last year, I covered around 30 games in the 3 days I was around for it, and I am determined to dwarf that number this year. I’ve been posting on my social media looking for devs to let know what they’ve been working on, and I have been blown away by the responses in the first 12 hours. There are so many interesting and unique games in my replies. I’ve wishlisted everything recommended and will be starting my playthrough of any demos available now, and will be following others closely. I’ve even heard from a few other devs about yet-to-be-announced projects that we’ll be hearing more about soon, too.
